What began as a little whisper to the MSM in the night has added a few more decibels to the auditory frequency each day and is continuing to gain amperage; by the time of this historic convention, the rest of the country will know what PUMAs have known for what seems eons, and why the Just Say No Deal Coalition exists. Barack Obama is an empty chair; inexperienced, unelectable, feeding his ego and trading up to a bigger house. Invesco Field, Berlin, Paris, London, and the Hawaii vacation while Russia invades Georgia. I personally have no problem with Bambi being on vacation, (considering the spanking that is coming at the convention and after from either the Republicans or his wife), but if he is going to be sticking his nose where it does not belong, because he is not the President yet, and issuing statements, then his lack of judgement and ridiculous comments are fair game.
The whisper started in the middle of June with the Wisconsin delegate, Debbie Bartoshevich who in an “emotional moment”, said she would vote for Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain in November. She has since been renamed a “PUMA Delegate” (by a bot blog) and stripped of her national delegate status. Debbie is probably not aware that she is the equivalent of Paul Revere riding pell mell thru the night yelling “The British Are Coming!, The British Are Coming!”.
PUMAs are the equivalent of Patrick Henry with our loud growls of:

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free– if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending–if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained–we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!
They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.
It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
After seeing what happened to Debbie, in a country with supposed Free Speech, I guess all those other PUMA delegates are staying hidden until the last minute, due to the escalating intimidation that is occurring to the delegates and PUMA members.
The first sign that the volume dial was slowly turning was the article in the New York Daily that stated Senator Clinton was asking not to be nominated at the convention. That same morning, the video came out of a private fundraiser the evening before where she said it would be a good idea having her name in nomination because it would be cathartic and bring unity. My question is why was the story in the New York Daily News written and printed, and why on that day?
Then the debate started about Senator Clinton being nominated or not, and it continues today. Today, Ben Smith over at the Politico was straightening out some business over the Keynote Speech that Senator Clinton was supposed to be delivering. It seems her speech will not be the keynote and was never confirmed by the Obama Camp. Yet, here is a quote from The Boston Globe reporting Senator Clinton as the Keynote Speaker.
But Gus Bickford, a Massachusetts member of the Democratic National Committee and a superdelegate who initially supported Clinton, said yesterday that he was told that Clinton will deliver the keynote address. “It was said as though it was a done deal,” Bickford said of Clinton’s speaking role, adding that he understood that to mean Clinton would not be chosen as Obama’s running mate.
So………which is it? Keynote or Not To Keynote? Truth or More Intimidation? Many people other than PUMAs are starting to wonder about the tactics of the DNC leadership and Barack Obama himself, and it is finally seeping into the corporate minded, ratings driven MSM where a few brave souls are daring to venture the same road PUMA has been prowling for days unending.
The whispering has started. Why isn’t Barack doing better? Why doesn’t Barack have a 20 point lead? Why is Barack not closing the deal, capturing the white women over 40 vote, appealing to blue collar workers…..? Why is Barack announcing his VP choice through a text message over cell phones? Why, if he is the presumptive nominee and completely confident, are pledged delegates told not to sign a petition to put Senator Clinton’s name into nomination. My question would be, why is the petition even necessary, since Barack Obama is not really the presumptive nominee because he did not cross the threshhold of pledged delegates to become such? Does the DNC expect Americans to believe he is the nominee just because they say so? Throw in the 100% voting strength of Florida and Michigan (we are still awaiting the Credentials Committee Meeting the evening before the convention starts) and the finish line just became farther away from Obama and Clinton.
Has the level of fear inside the DNC become so great that they are willing to throw democracy out into the snowbank to have this chameleon installed as the Leader of the Free World? I wonder what all those Honorary Pumas (Republicans, Indies, Greens….) will have to say about it in November. Yes, Barack Obama HAD half the Democratic Party, though I am sure that after some of his policy changes, they are saying they are still Obama supporters, but quietly slipping away into the night. PUMAs have a large percentage of the remainder of the Democrat Party AND quite a few new friends due to “the enemy of my enemy becomes my friend”. Most Americans are realizing that an Obama presidency would be devastating to our country on so many levels.

If anyone approaches you about signing a petition to place Senator Clinton’s name in nomination at the Democratic National Convention, the Governor has asked me to ask you to refrain from signing such a petition until we know what Senator Clinton and Senator Obama have worked out. As always, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
I want an answer as to what Obama and Clinton need to work out? What are they negotiating about? This continues to have the staged and manufactured marketed image imprint of Obama all over it; not an open and transparent convention. I want an answer to the question of why the Clinton or Obama pledged delegates should listen to such edicts? Are they not supposed to be voting for the delegate that won their district and why is that candidate’s name not in nomination? I know that Obama delegates have signed the petition in the true spirit of democracy and patriotism; because it is the AMERICAN THING TO DO! Why does the DNC leadership continue to think that Free Speech and Democracy are evil little demons to be stamped out? Why? Is this the direction that we want to allow our leadership to take us?
I want an answer to this question; since not one of the democratic candidates received the proper amount of pledged delegates to secure the nomination, should not all those that have not conceded have their names put into nomination? In other words, should not all the pledged delegates be allowed to vote for the person that brought them to the party?
And the intimidation continues…..when are we, as the American People, going to say “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” When are Senator Clinton, the pledged delegates and superdelegates going to say “Enough is Enough” with this manipulation, staging, intimidation and parlaying? When are they going to stand up and say, “This Is Not The American Way! Country Before Party!”?
In the newest story about delegates being intimidated; The Denver Channel, Call7 Investigates actually informs the public about a Colorado Clinton Delegate who is being threatened by the Colorado Dem Party.
DENVER — An e-mail sent from the political director of the Colorado Democratic Party threatened the status of a national delegate, alleging she made “disparaging public remarks” about Sen. Barack Obama.
Sacha Millstone of Boulder said that her comments were critical, but they were not public. Millstone acknowledged she was frustrated over how the Obama campaign was treating delegates who supported Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and told a fellow delegate, in what she believed was a private e-mail exchange, that she was not sure she could vote for Obama at the Democratic National Convention later this month.

The Colorado Democratic Party would like Boulder delegate Sacha Millstone, who is devoted to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, to give up her spot as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
Party officials said Monday that they won’t insist Millstone resign. But in an e-mail last week, Billy Compton, state political director of the Colorado Democratic Party, ordered Millstone into his office to explain disparaging comments she made about Barack Obama.
Compton said the party had received a complaint about Millstone from another delegate.
“You are hereby directed to come in to the party Headquarters and explain your comments and why you should remain a national delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in light of these comments,” the letter said.
Millstone, who has hired a lawyer, was infuriated.
“Isn’t there a right to free speech? Isn’t this right in line with our time-honored tradition with the Dems?” she said. “These intimidation tactics have a chilling effect on people feeling comfortable speaking up.”
Ms. Millstone, a pledged delegate, is standing up; where is the rest of our leadership? We have delegates outting other delegates now? What does that sound like to you? Next we will be turning over our neighbors, our friends, our family? And for what? “Change We Can Believe In?” Tactics of intimidation remind us of many world leaders throughout history that have not been remembered well. PUMAs will not allow this to happen in our country, so we continue to speak the truth about what is actually occurring in our democracy.

Gov. Rendell’s pressure on delegates to pipe down and fall in line is just one of many in a concerted, serious, and outrageous effort to hold the Unity Pony in check at ALL COSTS. Delegates in Colorado being threatened with replacement if they sign the 300 Petition; delegates in Kentucky told they will be “primaried” and punished by the Party if they ask for a roll call vote and nomination. And outrageous (and I mean OUTRAGEOUS) pressure on Hillary to RELEASE her delegates immediately in order to KILL the NOMINATION question DEAD.
The cracks in the dam are starting to leak and the pressure is building. In 12 days, the convention opens and at this point, anything could happen considering the dissent volume concerning Barack Obama’s undemocratic, one name on a ballot charade is ratcheting up, and fast. More voices are coming forward to say NO DEAL! and once it has started, it will grow exponentially faster with each passing day. Barack Obama has lost control of his juggernaught express and the DNC leadership backing him are fully aware and resorting to intimidation to keep the natives quiet. It is not working because Americans are proud of our country, we believe in the basic tenets of our democracy and will not remain quiet.
PUMAs are the sentinels at the gate, we are the guards on the wall keeping watch over democracy. We are the group that is currently making the DNC leadership and Superdelegates accountable to the principles of the Democratic Party and the United States Of America. We continue to hear the whispers that are becoming more audible each day and they are the rumblings of thunder and flashes of lightning; the tell tale signs of the approaching storm and dam break in Denver.
The PUMA storm is coming and will not be denied.

Ms. de Rothschild, 54, dressed in matching blue pants and sweater, blond hair tucked behind her ears, said she plans to send copies of the more than 6,000 signatures she has collected to superdelegates, Mr. Obama, his top officials, Howard Dean and officials at the Democratic National Committee, on Aug. 18—the Monday before the Democratic convention.
And she’ll be there, at the convention, to help press those demands, she said, especially including a dramatic overhaul of the nominating process by which Mr. Obama won the primary. She said she was well aware of Mrs. Clinton’s efforts to get Mr. Obama elected, as well as the efforts of the Obama campaign staffers, whom she said she liked, to appease Mrs. Clinton’s supporters. Despite it all, Ms. de Rothschild does not plan to vote for him.
“I think it’s difficult for him to fix it because of the judgments he’s made in the past and his lack of experience,” she said, adding that there was really nothing Mrs. Clinton could do about it. “If we are dissatisfied with Obama as a potential president, Hillary cannot be expected to change our minds.”

Ms. de Rothschild, on the other hand, doesn’t see herself even voting for Mr. Obama.
She said the Obama campaign has addressed her demands to give Mrs. Clinton a prime-time platform during the convention and adopt some of her language into the party platform, but she still has grievances. She thinks the bitter primary exposed the nominating process’ system of caucuses and proportionally weighted delegates as fundamentally undemocratic, and she wants Mr. Obama and Mr. Dean to address the fact that it needs to be fixed. And she has a problem with the way the Clintons were treated.
“If this party turns its back on Bill Clinton, it’s not a party that deserves our loyalty,” she said.

Another update to this post has just arrived from First Read. It seems that Mark Warner is going to be the Keynote Speaker instead of Senator Hillary Clinton. This makes complete sense to me since he has so much more experience and is a more stellar political individual…..yada, yada, yada…..HELE ON DNC!!!
